Blossom / Цъфтеж

I did this illustration with the idea of reminding myself of the simple fact that in order for me or anyone to adopt/ grow new ideas some old ones must wither and die. It is a tribute to personal growth and the never-ending cycle of birth and death.

- The Process -

I often start with a couple of rough sketches on pain paper and as soon as I feel satisfied I do a digital one so I can figure out how would things look like in colour. After my digital version of the illustration is done I transfer it onto good watercolour paper using a lightbox and then proceed with adding watercolour.

In the end I get this beautiful rough look that in my humble opinion is superior to the digital one.
